Donations

Why Donate?

The Samaritan Counseling Center could not exist without the support of our community.  We obtain funds from our clients, our board, congregations, foundations and grants.  These funds support our Good Samaritan Fund, which is used to subsidize a client who is not able to pay the standard fee.

What is important to note is that we subsidize the fee up to our cost of service per hours.  Our counselors make a percentage of what the client pays, which means that our counselors receive less when they are working with a client that is having difficulty financially.   Our counselors are willing to provide pro bono work because they feel this is their mission – it is not just a job.  This is one of the many qualities that makes Samaritan an outstanding agency.  Last year we subsidized $83,000 worth of counseling fees.   Our goal is to improve the mental health of our community and we do that one person at a time.
